Living a Joyful, Healthier, Brighter Life

Yoga Therapy for mental health and chronic health conditions

Angie Howden-Duke

Hi, I’m Angie Howden-Duke. I’m a Certified Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapist.

I work with women navigating anxiety, depression, or chronic illness who are looking for a more holistic way to feel better — physically, emotionally, and mentally.

My approach blends ancient Yogic and Ayurvedic practices with modern science. It’s not about pushing through pain — it’s about slowing down, tuning in, and gently working with your body and mind to create real, lasting change.

Through one-on-one sessions and simple home practices between them, we focus on all parts of you: physical, emotional, energetic, mental, and spiritual.
Programs run for multiple weeks, based on your individual needs.

Healing takes time, care, and support — and I’m here to walk alongside you.

Mission Statment

To help individuals reconnect with themselves by integrating the wisdom of yoga with modern science, supporting nervous system regulation, resilience, and whole-person healing.

Vision Statement

To become a leading provider of yoga therapy services in British Columbia, helping individuals move from survival states of stress and disconnection toward vitality, clarity, and self-trust.

My Therapeutic Approach

A central element of Angie Howden-Duke’s Yoga Therapy methodology is the use of slow, intentional movement combined with breath awareness to cultivate a deeper connection to the body. Rather than focusing on performance or intensity, sessions emphasize attentive, mindful movement that helps individuals reconnect with subtle sensations within the body. This approach allows patterns of chronic tension, bracing, and protective holding often created by stress or emotional experiences to gradually soften.

Through this process, clients begin to develop greater awareness of their internal landscape. As the body releases unnecessary tension, many individuals experience shifts not only physically but also mentally and emotionally, uncovering greater clarity, ease, and self-understanding.

By creating a safe environment for exploration, yoga therapy becomes a process of unveiling one’s natural state of balance and wholeness, supporting healing across physical, emotional, and energetic dimensions.
